Support Our Cause

Brighter Tails is working to support humane community cat management through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the development of the TallyKat™ platform, and programs designed to strengthen local animal welfare efforts.

At this time, donations supporting Brighter Tails are helping fund TNR efforts in Unicoi County, Tennessee, where community members are working to address a growing need for humane community cat care after Hurricane Helene devastated the area in September 2024.

Any amount helps!

Every colony you sponsor helps stabilize community cat populations and prevent future litters.

Brighter Tails works with carers across Unicoi County to stabilize cat colonies through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

Each colony represents a group of community cats that are actively being TNR’d, fed, and monitored by local residents and volunteers.

By sponsoring a colony, you help provide spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, food, and medical care for cats that would otherwise continue reproducing and struggling to survive outdoors.

You can help by sponsoring their care.

Unicoi County was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene in 2024, and the loss of the county animal shelter program created a major gap in animal services. As a result, community cat colonies have grown rapidly.

Many residents deeply care about animals and are stepping up to help, but local caregivers often lack the resources needed to humanely manage these colonies.

That’s where Brighter Tails has stepped in, coordinating with caregivers and others doing TNR in the area to organize humane solutions for community cats.
